Abiturient of the G. and K. Bacewicz Music Academy in Łódź, graduated with distinction in 2012 under Prof. Cezary Sanecki piano masterclass. Moreover honed skills in Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Prof. Andrzej Ratusiński piano masterclass and Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim, chamber music under Prof. Michael Flaksman and Prof. Jelena Očić.

Artist is a laureate of many national and international music competitions. The most important are: Distinction on Chopin Competition Wł. Kędra in Łódź, 2nd Prize and Special Prize for best perform of polish modern piece on XVII International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, Special Prize for best pianist on XVIII International J. Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, IV Prize on IV International Lied-Duo Richard Strauss Competition in Sofia.

Huge impact on his artistic development have had contact with great musical personalities such as: Paul Badura – Skoda, Andrzeja Jasiński, Elza Kolodin, Dang Thai – Son, Jonathan Zak, Jose Gallardo, Eduardo Hubert, Peter Efler, Paul Gulda, Victor Chestopal and many others.

Michał Rot leads an active concert life both in his country and abroad. He had performed on number of significant music festivals, only to mention: Ascoli Piceno Festival, Gaude Mater, Muzyka na Szczytach, Mieczyslaw Wajnberg Days at NOSPR, Opus Magnum, Days of Karol Szymanowski music, Heidelberger Kammermusikfestival, Presentations – Żelazowa Wola, Łódzkie Schumanniana, Kubinska Hudobna Jesen, August with Talents, Castle meetings with opera in Książ, Vienna Music Festival.

He had an honor to perform in important concert halls like: Polish National Philharmonic, National Forum of Music, Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra hall, Polish Baltic Philharmonic, Circle du Royale in Brussels, and many other philharmonics or important culture institutions.

Pianist have had collaborated with prominent artists like: Michael Flaksman, Roberto Trainini, Jerzy Salwarowski, Jerzy Swoboda, Daniel Raiskin, Tomasz Daroch, Jelena Očić, Krzysztof Karpeta,Tomasz Chmiel, Andrzej Kosendiak, Aleksandra Szwejkowska – Belica.

Since 2016 he plays in duo with cellist Wojciech Fudala. Artists received a scholarship in the field of popularizing culture from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Vocal lyricism is an area of pianists fascination. Since 2007, the pianist creates a chamber music duo with his wife Joanna Rot (mezzo-soprano), on which several years of artistic care took remarkable Polish singer Urszula Kryger. Later artists were developing their skills under supervision of Ulrich Eisenlohr in Mannheim and world-renowed baritone Olaf Bär in Dresden (2010-2014).

Parallely collaborates with an excellent Polish baritone young generation Stanisław Kierner and other recognized singers: Baruch Finkelstein, Szymon Komasa, Katarzyna Haras, Bernadetta Grabias, Karina Skrzeszewska , Anna Lichorowicz, Ziemowit Wojtczak.

Pianist have made many recordings among which are Schubert’s “Winterreise” (DUX) with baritone Stanisław Kierner ; “Song of earth” (Polish Radio Recordings) with violinist Aleksandra Szwejkowska - Belica and “Reger Duo plays Yagling” (DUX) with wordl premiere recordings of Victoria Yagling’s cello works with Krzysztof Karpeta, and two recordings nominated to prestigious Fryderyki Prize: in 2021: “Paderewski, Koczalski, Szymanowski. Songs” (DUX) with baritone Stanisław Kierner; and in 2020: “Mieczysław Wajnberg. Sonatas for cello and piano” (DUX) with cellist Wojciech Fudala.

Artist received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding achievements in the field of music. Works on Music Academy G. and K. Bacewicz in Łódź in Chair of Piano Chamber Music where he had received the title of post-doctoral degree of arts in 2021.
