Marcin Kawczyński


Graduated from the piano performance class of Prof. Anna Wesołowska – Firlej at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź (Master’s and Doctor’s Degrees). He also studied chamber piano music at the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under the direction of Prof. Maria Szwajger – Kułakowska. Currently, he is studying piano tuning and regulation at the Academy of Music in Katowice under the direction of Sebastian Grima and Peter Salisbury,
and he is a trainee in song interpretation class of prof. Tomasz Herbut at the Academy of Music in Łódź, too. Simultaneously he is working with pianist Piotr Sałajczyk, DMus.

He has played as a soloist with the following ensembles: the Orchestra of the Łódź Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of Legnica and the Chamber Orchestra of Radom.

As a chamber musician, he has played with artists associated with the city of Łódź, as well as with other performers,
e.g. the Wieniawski Kwartet form Poznań or Jakub Waszczeniuk.

He has taken part in chamber concerts held in the Chamber Concert Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic and at the premises of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra. He has accompanied instrumentalists during competitions in, inter alia, Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, Kalisz and Prague, being awarded honorary mentions there as well.

He has mastered his skills during master classes run by such artists and pedagogues as Prof. Pavel Gililov, Andrzej Jasiński, Aleksiej Orłowiecki, Ingrid Andsnes and Udo Reineman.

Currently, he works as a teaching staff member at his Alma Mater on the position of a senior lecturer – accompanist in the Faculty of Vocal and Acting Performance. He also worked as an assistant in the Chair of Chamber Music and as a teacher in the 1st and and – level music schools for 12 years.
